This photograph shows Ong Tiang Wee (1909–1999). The son of Ong Boon Tat, a prominent Peranakan businessman and owner of New World Park, Ong was a barrister and partner of the law firm Laycock and Ong at Malacca Street (1941–1986); Member of Singapore Municipal Commission (1934–1948); President of Anglo-Chinese School Old Boys' Association (1946–1947); President of Straits Chinese British Association and the Peranakan Association, Singapore (1948–1992); and Member of Board of Directors of Overseas Assurance Corporation Limited (1937–1996).
