Walter Van Beirendonck was part of the Antwerp Six, a group comprising of Van Beirendonck, Dirk Van Saene, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester and Marina Yee who created fresh and innovative designs. From 1993 to 1999, Van Beirendonck worked under the label W. & LT, or Wild and Lethal Trash. The clothing produced under this label was experimental and futuristic, aimed to connect with a younger, tech-savvy audience. W< embraced the internet early on, with its signature motif being the virtual pet, Puk Puk from the planet Dork. In 2019, Walter Van Beirendonck collaborated with online retailer FarFetch to Sell archive pieces on its platform.Lionnnel Lim bought this overseas spontaneously, as he was drawn in by the small cartoon detail of Puk Puk. Describing his own style as one which embraces the unusual and strange, Lionnel reflects the Van Beirendonck ethic and pushes the boundaries of fashion to its limit. Lim first worked as a fashion designer-cum-merchandiser for local and regional manufacturers and later switched to writing, styling and illustrating for newspapers and various publications.
