This is a translation of the power of attorney issued by the heirs and legacies of Syed Abdulrahman bin Mohamed al Hydiose, all the heirs of his son, Abdulkader bin Abdulrahman vis Saida Telha binte Ibrahim bin Fein bin Yayah, the daughters of Syed Abdulrahman bin Mohamed (Sheriffas Mariam, Alveeah Shaika, Magana, and Farah), the children of Syed Abdul Kader bin Abdulrahman (Ibrahim, Abdulrahman, and Fatimah), and lastly, Sheriffa Rakeah binte Syed Ahmad bin Ally. This document was written in the presence of the Kader in Seow (?), Sapee bin Shaik bin Hahaal Sapee Al-Sagoff and sealed with his mark. It is part of the John Koh collection which comprises of various legal documents in Arabic, Jawi, and English, and serves as a record of the 19th and early 20th century colonial legal systems in Singapore and the interactions of various ordinary individuals with the law.
