This coral-red enamelled porcelain spoon was customised by the Chinese restaurant, Tai Tong Restaurant (Da Dong Jiu Lou 大东酒楼). The characters for “New World” (Xin Shi Jie 新世界), which are inserted in between the restaurant’s name, refers to the amusement park at Jalan Besar where the restaurant was located at.
