The inflight magazine of Singapore Airlines (SIA) was first launched in 1976 as Silver Kris. Covering current and future trends in air travel, as well as travel features and destination guides, the magazine also provided information about SIA's products and services, fleet, network, and airports served. An online version of the magazine was launched in 2010 and the magazine, presently stylised as SilverKris, has been fully digital since March 2020. This issue is part of a set donated by Mr Jimmy Chew, who worked as an SIA engineer from the 1960s until his retirement in 1998.The November 1989 issue of the magazine features the Benjamin Sheares Bridge (opened in September 1981) on its front cover, photographed by R. Ian Lloyd. The photograph also includes a view of the Central Business District in the background and Marina Centre and Marina East, both of which were built up as part of major land reclamation and development projects from the 1970s-80s.
