This donation is a shirt from a collaboration between WERK magazine and local streetwear brand The Salvages. The collaboration produced a small scale capsule collection of hand printed t shirts, which were produced to showcase the importance of counter culture to society and which drew inspiration from DIY, music, and style. WERK magazine is the publication of Theseus Chan, a Singaporean printed matter designer and graphic artist, who has collaborated with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, German printer, publisher Gerhard Steidl and pop artist Keiichi Tanaami. the Salvages is a streetwear brand founded in 2016 by Earn Chen and Nicolette Yip. Beginning as a e-commerce platform for archival vintage items, The Salvages eventually began to sell its own merchandise with the likes of G-Dragon and Blackpink among its customers.
