This is a typed A4 sized letter dating from January 1966, signed by then-PM Lee Kuan Yew. It is addressed to the late Tan Eng Bock, the then Captain of the Singapore waterpolo team on the occasion of his team’s gold medal victory at the December 1965 Southeast Asian Peninsula (SEAP) Games in Kuala Lumpur. This victory was a significant one as it marked the beginning of the Singapore waterpolo team’s 52-year undefeated hold on the SEA Games title, which was only broken in 2019.
