This is a letter granting a second interview to Choong Kim Siew, a former Leading Seaman with the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), in relation to his application request for Singapore citizenship in 1972. It lists out the requisite documents that he had to bring along with him, including his and his family identity documents, his navy discharge letter as well as his tax receipts, one of which is stapled here. In the immediate period after separation between Singapore and Malaysia in 1965, discharged officers such as Choong were allowed to request for civilian identity cards and citizenship in Singapore or Malaysia, subject to approval.
