These are examples of the elegant ceramic tiles that originally decorated the grave of Mdm Wen Caifeng (溫財鳳) who passed away in 1928 (民国十七年). Mdm Wen's grave was one of over 3,700 graves that were exhumed between 2013 and 2014 for the construction of a new road through Bukit Brown Cemetery. The floral art nouveau tiles enhanced the visual appeal of the tomb shoulders and tomb arms, while revealing the aesthetic preferences of the deceased and her family.
