This is a segment of one of the tomb shoulders from the grave of Mdm Wee Kwye Neo who passed away in February 1927. Mdm Wee's grave was one of over 3,700 graves that were exhumed between 2013 and 2014 for the construction of a new road through Bukit Brown Cemetery. The transfer-printed polychrome tiles enhanced the visual appeal of the tomb shoulders and tomb arms, while revealing the aesthetic preferences of the deceased and her family. The tiles are also an example of the global material culture present at the cemetery; they were produced by the Henry Richards Tile Co in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
