The Illustrated Classic of Filial Piety and the Twenty-four Filial Exemplars (绘图孝经 • 新增绘画二十四孝)

Originating in the Yuan dynasty (1260-1368), The Twenty-four Filial Exemplars is a classic text on Confucian filial piety. The stories in the volume were used to teach young children to emulate these filial paragons.This version also contains the Classic of Filial Piety and comes with illustrationsWhile the end page of this book states that it was printed in the 33rd year of Emperor Guangxu’s reign (1907), it was likely that this version was reprinted in the early Republican period as the cover features Five-Coloured flag and the 18-Star flag.
