This is a duplicate copy of a birth record registered in 1949, when Singapore was formally administered as the Colony of Singapore. On the reverse side is a vaccination record.Up until World War 2 in 1942, Singapore formed part of the Straits Settlement along with Melaka and Penang under the British Colonial Office. After World War 2, Singapore was reconstituted as the Colony of Singapore in 1946, an arrangement that would last until Singapore's merger with Malaysia in 1963.
