This is an instance of a BCG vaccination slip and a vaccination notice for infants issued in the years immediately after Singapore's independence in 1965. Infant vaccinations were issued in stages across a span of 18 months. The main diseases that require vaccination against are tubercolosis, diphteria and rubella. While most births were done at Kandang Kerbau Maternity Hospital, infant vaccinations could be done at neighbourhood clinics. In this instance, vaccinations subsequent to the BCG was done at the Matinal & Child Health Centre at Jalan Bahru (now expunged), which used to serve villages around the West Coast/Pasir Panjang area.
