This evening bag belonged to Mdm Tong Swee Ying, who was the wife of a banker. Mrs Kwok often attended business and social parties with her husband in the 1950s and 1960s. This bag is made of acrylic, a fashionable new plastic material which was used in the 1950s and 1960s as a trendy material for bags, jewellery and furniture.
