Town Hall and Court House from the EsplanadeThis view is taken from the Esplande or Padang. The newly completed Town Hall is seen on the left, while the Court House is visible on the right. Street hawkers and a horse-driven carriage can be seen along the Esplanade. This photograph has been attributed to John Thomson, the Scottish photographer who set up a studio in Singapore between 1863 and 1865.
