Calendar with Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s portrait and political will (1935)This is a calendar featuring Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s portrait and political will. The flags of the Kuomintang and the Chinese Republic, as well as the Chinese phrase: “The revolution has yet to succeed. Soldier on, comrades!” are also featured on both sides of the calendar. The first page of this calendar, which marks the first day of the year, also has the Chinese characters denoting “the anniversary of the Republic of China’s founding” inscribed. After Dr Sun Yat Sen’s demise on 12 March 1925, his deathbed declaration, known as his political will, was published and disseminated in a variety of formats, including being inscribed on badges, ceramic plates, portraits of Dr Sun Yat Sen and other commemorative and everyday items.
