This Shares Certiicate was made out to Oh Kim Neo, the seventh daughter of the pharmacy's founder, Oh Ghee Choo, a year after her father had passed on. Oh Kim Neo was given ten lots of shares, each of $100, amounting to a total of $1,000, by her sisters, Leh Oorloff (Oh Leh Neo) and Oh Soo Neo, both directors at the pharamacy. The United Pharmacy was a local Western pharmacy which started operation in the early 20th century along North Bridge Road, and went on for over 70 years before closing its doors in December 1984. It was founded by Oh Ghee Choo and his brother-in-law, Chong Fook Loy.
