Nanqiao Civic Education (南桥公民教科书), Book 3 and Nanyang Civic Education (南洋公民教科书) textbooks, Book 5

These two Chinese textbooks have a Nanyang orientation, which marks a minimal shift in the curriculum from one that was solely focused on China to one which attempted to include the history and geography of Nanyang. Between 1930s and 1949, there was a considerable emphasis on Nanyang in the Chinese textbooks, which is made evident from the design on the textbook covers through elements such as the coconut tree.
