This wrap, rendered in red and white, contains marine motifs of stylised boats and crocodile or snake-like creatures. These are interspersed within stripes with a hoof-like pattern. Worn by men around the hips, the closely-packed design and colouring indicate that it could possibly originate from Manulea, West Timor. Ships were often depicted in Indonesian textiles to recall the arrival of ancestors on the various islands on the archipelago and were also vehicles into the afterlife.
