Pear Tree, SerangoonToh Kheng Quai, 82, retiredMr Toh obtained the seed for this tree from a fruit he ate in 1995. He planted the seed inhis old house, and moved the plant with him when he moved into his current flat in2009. Today, the tree towers over Mr Toh, who prunes it regularly. He says that theleaves of the tree can be boiled for tea and is a good remedy for coughs.
