Figure drawing - Standing man

Ong Tian Soo was an early and active member of the Equator Art Society. His later artistic practice remains invisible in the existing research on Singapore art history and needs to be studied further. This body of sketches produced by the artist is significant to the understanding of the development of social realist movement in Singapore, particularly the ways in which EAS practised art during its early years in the 1950s and 1960s. The works also aid in our understanding of the methodology which EAS utilised in its approach towards realism during that time.
