This is a Malay translation of the power of attorney issued by Sharifa Zahara binte Ahmed bin Hussain bin Sahal of Terim in Hadhramaut, Arabia. It was granted to Syed Alawi bin Abubakar Alkaf of Singapore, who would manage her property and assets in Singapore, including the right to sell her property at 110 Queen Street. The power of attorney was sealed by the Kadi of Terim, Shaik Ali bin Sallim bin Omar Arfan Ba Raja. It was translated from Arabic to the Malay language by Haji Abdullah bin Omar of No. 52 Buffalo Road, Singapore on 21 November 1918.This document is part of the John Koh collection which comprises of various legal documents in Arabic, Jawi, and English, and serves as a record of the 19th and early 20th century colonial legal systems in Singapore and the interactions of various ordinary individuals with the law.
