This is an English translation of the power of attorney issued by Khadijah binte Oman bin Hadi bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah to the sons of Hadi bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah, Mahfooth bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah, Oman, and Salli. It was also granted to the sons of Ahmed bin Ali Altui Ba Salamah, Abdullah and Ali. This power of attorney was verified by Sultan Mansoor bin Ghalib Mohsim Alkatheeri and sealed with his seal.Khadijah authorized these individuals to hold, receive, and look after all the shares to which she was entitled to as one of the heirs of her husband, Abdul Rahman bin Talib bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah, who died on 13 May 1815. She was entitled to one fourth of his estate in Hadhramaut and Mukalla, consisting of houses and immovable property such as cash and outstanding debts, along with furniture and all other goods. She was also entitled to a share of her husband’s properties in Singapore, consisting of two houses, No. 178 on Rochor Road and No. 92 on Arab Street, and was included in her husband’s share of his brother’s estate (Ali bin Talib) in house No.17 on Chin Chew Street and his share of house No. 177 on Rochor Road.
