This shard was previously part of a Dehua porcelain ware. It has floral motifs decorated in underglaze blue. Blue and white dehua wares are sometimes classified under ‘southern provincial wares’ or ‘minan ware’ (wares produced in south Fujian). These wares were made for domestic use or for export and their quality is generally of a lower standard.
