This shard was previously part of a Dehua export ware, probably a bowl. It is undecorated and covered with a brown glaze. Such wares of which this shard was from are sometimes classified under ‘southern provincial wares’ or ‘minan ware’ (wares produced in south Fujian). These wares were made for domestic use or for export and their quality is generally of a lower standard.
