The flags of the five Tiger Generals were used during the Tiandihui initiation ceremony. They represented the founders of the five minor lodges of the Hung Society upon whom the titles of Tiger General were bestowed. These secret society paraphernalia form part of the William Stirling Collection. William George Stirling was the Assistant Protector of Chinese in Singapore from 1921 to 1931.
