This is the New Testament (Perjanjian Bharu) in Baba Malay. This reprint of the 1913 first edition was published by the British and Foreign Bible Society in Singapore. It belonged to a Peranakan Chinese family. The Peranakan Chinese were the first group of locals to be converted to Christianity in Singapore by missionaries. From the late 19th century, missionaries engaged in door-to-door evangelism and distributed Bibles to Peranakan Chinese households.
