A set usually consists of: 1) Pipe: Consists of the smoking tube made of bamboo and the distillation bowl (damper), usually made of terracotta or porcelain. 2) Lamp: Produces a steady low-degree flame that cooks the opium pellet without charring it. 3) Opium box: Contains the pellets. 4) Spindle: Inserts the pellet into the bowl, and scrapes after-smoke residue from pipe.5) Scraper: Scrapes dross from the opium bowl. 6) Container: Contains the dross.
