Run by New Hope Community Services, Transit Point @ Margaret Drive is a shelter for rough sleepers that expedited its opening in Singapore when Malaysia’s Movement Control Order took effect on 18 March 2020 as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Converted from the former Queenstown Polyclinic, it provided safe accommodation to those in need during this period, including stranded Malaysians, Singaporeans and permanent residents who were affected by the pandemic. This series of 18 photographs by How Hwee Young documents the day to day running of the shelter.
