Naval Base bus service registration receipt

This receipt certifies the registration of bus number S.7021 permitted for entry into the Naval Base as part of the bus service operated by Mr Cheong Ah Kee. Mr Cheong’s bus company provided shuttle services between different points within the grounds of the Naval Base. Opened in Sembawang in 1938, the Naval Base was considered to have a significant role to play in the British defence strategy against the Japanese threat of war in the Far East.
