Letter from Naval Base bus service operator to the Captain of Dockyard

This letter, written by the operator of the Naval Base bus service, requests for a pass for a new bus driver, as well as an additional bus conductor. The Naval Base, which opened in Sembawang in 1938, was considered to have a significant role to play in the British defence strategy against the Japanese threat of war in the Far East. Run by Mr Cheong Ah Kee, the Naval Base bus service provided shuttle services between different points within the grounds of the Naval Base.
