The cup is decorated with motifs such as birds, lotuses and pomegranates. The rim is gilded and scalloped. The inner border is decorated with classic scrolls. The base bears the reign mark of “Da Qing Tongzhi nian zhi” (大清同治年制). It belonged to a Peranakan family in Malacca.
