This state lectern was used by Mr Lee Kuan Yew from 1971 to 1987 in his capacity as Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar. The lectern was used by Mr Lee to deliver speeches at his constituency’s Chinese New Year and National Day Dinners, along with official events such as the opening of the National Stadium in 1973 and Cabinet swearing-in ceremony in 1985.
