Anamorphic elements frequently appear in Ngui’s work. In addition to objects like chairs and tables, Ngui has also applied the device to text and drawings. Presenting a tension between reality and image, the works show that “a singular point of view can be false and incorrect”. “Chair” is a site-specific recreation of the anamorphic chair at National Gallery Singapore.
