Ling Xiao was, like Zhang Xiao Ying, also an alumnus of the singing competition organised by the radio station, Rediffusion. He participated in the 1967 edition and was first runner-up. Ling then signed with Happy Records and released some 30 records with the company, including ‘Ni Xiang Yiduo Hua’ (You Are Like A Flower) and ‘Weishenme Paoqi Wo’ (Why Abandon Me).
