Located at Muscat Street, Sultan's Mosque was named after the first Sultan of Singapore, Sultan Hussein Shah. The Mosque was built around 1824 by Sultan Hussein Shah himself, with a grant from the East India Company. It was designed by Denis Santry of Swan & Maclaren in Saracenic style and incorporated domes, minarets and balustrades. A special feature of the Mosque is the base of its dome which is formed out of many glass bottles.
