This lobed ogival 'pending' (belt buckle) features auspicious motifs of flowers, flowers in vases, birds, shells, carps and a central medallion featuring a dragon. The motifs used point at Chinese influence on island Southeast Asian jewellery and accessories. It was also worn by the indigenous tribal people, such as the Dayaks, on ceremonial occasions.
