This is a set of opera costume and accessories belonging to Goh Siew Geok (吴书玉). Goh Siew Geok is a prominent Beijing opera performer, teacher, and advocate. The opera costume was one of Goh Siew Geok’s keepsakes that she used during practice and performance. The costume has been used for practising the role of the concubine in "The Drunken Concubine," a role for which Goh Siew Geok is well known. Additionally, she wore the opera costume during her TV performance of “The Drunken Concubine” on episode 12 of Silver Carnival 2023. The robe is embellished with crystals that were used to conceal holes on the robe. These crystals are evidence of repairs carried out over the years by her students from TAS Theatre Company.
