Gold medal won by Remy Ong for the men’s singles event at the 2006 WTBA World Tenpin Bowling Championships in Busan, South Korea

This gold medal was won by Singaporean bowler Remy Ong for the men’s singles event while representing the country at the 2006 WTBA World Tenpin Bowling Championships in Busan, South Korea. He also won the all-events title at the championships. Ong had also earlier captained the men’s bowling team during the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea, where he won three gold medals for in the men’s singles, trios and masters events. He has donated his autographed jacket from the 2002 Asian Games as well. In the same year, Ong was ranked number one in Asia and came second in the prestigious AMF Bowling World Cup. Ong was voted Sportsman of the Year at the Singapore Sports Awards in 2003 and 2007, and bestowed the Singapore Youth Award by the National Youth Council in 2003 for his achievements.
