Lim Chor Koon (林初君), a teacher at the Chung Hwa Girls' High School Primary Section (中华女子中学 (附小)) in the 1960s and 1970s, is pictured in the centre of this class photo. She wears a black patch of cloth on her shirt sleeve, indicating the death of a relative, as her mother had passed away that year. Chung Hwa Girls' High School was established in 1911 by Tay Peng Teng, Puan Yeow Pong and the Chinese community in response to Sun Yat Sen's call for schools for girls.
