This photo shows two soldiers from the 1st Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment conducting bayonet fighting practice in the late 1950s. The donor, Mr Hong Seng Mak (left), joined the battalion when it was first formed in 1957, and was made company clerk in 'A' Company soon thereafter, with the rank of Lance Corporal.
