This is a mould for making appliqued decoration on large joss sticks. Hand-made moulds were introduced by Mr Tay Yong Poh, the second-generation owner of Tay Guan Heng, to speed up the production process and address issues of manpower scarcity. The design of this mould brims with auspiciousness as fish signify abundance and the characters ‘fa’ 发and ‘jin yu man tang’ 金玉满堂 connote prosperity.
