This lobed ewer has applied moulded double fish and is covered in an olive-green glaze.The Changsha kiln in Hunan province produced a wide range of wares for export. The kiln is known for its innovative application of underglaze decoration using iron and copper pigments. This type of ewer has been found in large quantities in Southeast Asia, most recently in the Belitung wreck, which was salvaged from Indonesian waters. The cargo included some pieces of Changsha wares.
