The dragon joss stick (longxiang 龙香) is the most popular type of large joss sticks produced by Tay Guan Heng, the only manufacturer of large hand-crafted joss sticks in Singapore when it ceased operations in December 2022. Dragon joss sticks were traditionally used as a form of offering on the birthdays of Daoist deities and during the Zhongyuan Festival (Hungry Ghost Festival) held in the seventh lunar month. Joss sticks with a front-facing dragon were intended to be placed in the centre among a trio of dragon joss sticks.
