A sand depot in Punggol, located in the northeast of Singapore. Land-scarce Singapore has had a long history of land reclamation, where sand is an essential commodity to such projects. This photograph is from Singaporean photographer Sim Chi Yin’s Shifting Sands series, which documents the role sand plays in land reclamation and the impact it has on the social, environmental and political landscapes in Singapore and the region today.
