Gift of Mdm Loh Yoke Foo
This is a membership card of the United Workers of Electronic and Electrical Industries, which was formed as a trade union in July 1981 to represent workers in Singapore’s electronics and electrical sector. Loh Yoke Foo joined the union as an employee of Fairchild Semiconductor, a company with a factory established in Toa Payoh in the late 1960s manufacturing integrated circuits, where she worked as an operator on the assembly line.
