This bracelet contains a plaque inscribed "ONG PENG HOCK 259 BUKIT TIMAH RD." Ong Peng Hock (1889-1968) was the son of Ong Sam Leong (1857-1918) who built "Bukit Rose", a mansion on 259 Bukit Timah Road. Ong Peng Hock and his brother Ong Boon Tat (1888-1941) received their education at Raffles Institution and were prominent members of the Straits Chinese community. In 1923, the brothers opened the New World amusement park, the first of its kind in Malaya. In 1963, Ong Peng Hock was decorated with the title of Dato (Datuk) by the Sultan of Pahang.
