This black Pelikan Classic K200 ballpoint pen with gold-plated trim was used by former Minister Mentor Mr Lee Kuan Yew for many years and was stored in the stationery tray drawer of his office work desk. Mr Lee (b. 1923) was Singapore's Prime Minister between 1959 and 1990, Senior Minister between 1990 and 2004, and Minister Mentor between 2004 and 2011, before he stepped down from Cabinet. He continued to serve as the Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar until his death on 23 March 2015 at the age of 91.
