These clip earrings with fishtail closures are set with old mine cut diamonds. Objects made of silver recall the prosperous galleon trade between Mexico and Manila, which made available abundant supplies of silver in the Philippines. According to the donor, these earrings were gifted by his great-great-grandfather, General Aniceto Lacson y Ledesma (17 April 1857 – 3 February 1931) to his daughter, Leoncia Lacson y Torres. After, Leoncia gave the earrings to the donor’s mother, Corazon Arroyo Montilla (b. 1933) on the occasion of her high school graduation.
