A Burial Returns book comprised forms that were used to record a person's death and location of burial. The forms were supposed to be filled out either by a Chaplain of the Forces (C.F.) or an officer. This book belonged to Reverend Eric Cordingly, who was a military chaplain attached to the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers and was interned in Changi prison during World War Two. He was the chaplain of St George's Church, a replica of which can now be seen at the Changi Chapel and Museum.
